The syllabus covers entrepreneurship concepts, business models, startup ecosystems, and government schemes like Stand-up India. Key sub-topics include intellectual property rights, types of entrepreneurs, funding options such as angel investing or venture capital, and the evolution of entrepreneurship within the Indian economic environment.

The CMAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship section consists of 20 multiple-choice questions worth 80 total marks. This segment carries 20% weightage of the overall exam, where each correct response earns four marks and each incorrect answer results in a one-mark deduction from the final score.

The CMAT 2026 exam lasts 180 minutes and follows a +4/-1 marking scheme. Candidates earn four marks for every correct response, while one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer across the five sections totaling 100 multiple-choice questions.

You must carry a printed A4 copy of the CMAT Admit Card and a valid ID. Acceptable photo identification includes an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License, provided the candidate's photograph and signature images are legibly printed.

The entry gates at CMAT test centres will close strictly at 08:30 A.M. sharp. No candidate is permitted to enter the examination hall after this time, which is exactly 30 minutes before the 09:00 A.M. commencement of the computer-based test.

Candidates must arrive at the examination centre by 07:00 A.M. for the morning shift. The official reporting time is set two hours prior to the exam start, ensuring sufficient time for mandatory biometric verification and frisking procedures before the gates close.

The CMAT 2026 exam will be held on January 25, 2026, in a single shift. According to the NTA public notice, the test is scheduled from 09:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., marking a major shift from previous years' two-session format.
