Doctoral Programme in Management
The Ph.D. programme of IIM Ranchi has the objective of developing outstanding scholars for teaching or research careers at business schools/universities or management research institutions or careers in Government, industry, NGOs or for that matter any organization that requires advanced analytical and research capabilities. To accomplish this, the Ph.D. will seek to admit students who have a strong academic background, are highly motivated, and who have the intellectual curiosity to undertake original research and provide them with knowledge and research skills that can make them specialized researchers with sufficient depth of knowledge in the various existing and emerging management knowledge domains.
Ph.D. in IIM Ranchi is an academic programme, which may require a minimum of four years to complete. Students have to undertake first two years of rigorous course work, followed by at least two additional years for completing the research work with dissertation. The first year of the course work is common with IIM Ranchi’s Post Graduate Programme and is aimed at providing a participant with a broad understanding of the field of management. The Second Year of the coursework is to ensure that candidates develop deep understanding in their knowledge domain and ability to do rigorous research in their chosen area of specialization. The Area Comprehensive Examination at the end of the second year is designed to assess whether the candidate has acquired requisite level of proficiency in his/her area of specialization. In the subsequent years, the candidate works on the doctoral dissertation which is expected to be an original contribution in the area of management.

The Doctoral Programme in Management requires a minimum of four years for completion. Doctoral students must complete two years of rigorous coursework and at least two additional years dedicated to research work. The first-year coursework is common with the MBA programme. It enables the students to develop a fundamental understanding of different management areas. After completing the coursework, doctoral students must demonstrate their capability of conducting research by a Comprehensive Examination aimed at assessing the knowledge gained in the area of specialisation. In the subsequent years, the students work on their thesis, which is expected to be an original contribution to the specialized area of management. The thesis is evaluated in internal and external thesis defence.
Candidates who fulfil the above eligibility criteria can apply online. They are also required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Alternatively, those who have qualified in GATE, GRE, GMAT and NET-JRF (UGC/CSIR) examinations can also apply in the relevant area of specialization.
A candidate for the IIM Ranchi PhD programme must have one of the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Post Graduate Diploma or its equivalent in any discipline with first class (or); B.Tech/4 Years Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent (or), Any professional qualification such as CA/ICWA/CS with a B.Com/Degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average.
- In addition, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent) in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level. Work experience in industry or academics, though not mandatory, will be given due credit in the selection process.
- Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree
- A candidate must not be more than 55 years of age
Step-1: Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria should submit application.
Step-2: Candidates are required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Alternatively, those who have qualified in GATE, GRE, GMAT and NET-JRF (UGC/CSIR) examinations can also apply in the relevant area of specialization. Scores of any of these examinations including CAT taken during the last two years will be considered valid for the admission in Ph.D. Candidates who have already obtained a one/two year full-time classroom-based Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or in any specialized area of management (e.g., PGD in HRM, Agri-Business Management etc.) from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent in last four years preceding the admission year are exempted from this requirement, and can apply directly through the prescribed Application Form.
Step-3: The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above will be called for a seminar and personal interview for final selection in April/May and the successful candidates will receive admission offer.
Executive Doctoral Programme in Management
IIM Ranchi offers an Executive Doctoral Programme in Management for experienced professionals who wish to pursue a doctoral degree while continuing their professional commitments. The Executive Doctoral Programme in Management requires a minimum of four years for completion and is divided into two phases. In the first phase, executive doctoral scholars must complete six terms of coursework. Integrated Programme in Management (IPM)
The Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) of IIM Ranchi is a full-time 5-year integrated postgraduate programme. The students will be awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the end of the 5-year programme. A student who chooses to exit after three years will be awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree if he/she has completed all the programme requirements due by then.
The programme is designed to provide a multidisciplinary foundation borrowing from humanities, social sciences, arts, and sciences in the first four terms. The programme’s cross-disciplinary business core builds a foundation and comprehensively covers all business areas in five years. Eligibility criteria for continuation/ renewal of the scholarship
1. During the entire previous year, the conduct of the student should be good
2. No acts or omission which results in unlawful behavior, malafide intention maligning the University brand in digital, print, or social media, promoting, supporting or sharing any content which is against the University brand
3. No disciplinary action was initiated/sanctioned against the student under the student handbook or compliance with norms as prescribed by the University
4. The student should maintain merit and get CGPA of 7.0 and above and should have passed all courses of study in the first attempt in the previous year
5. The student is not caught in unfair means in any of the examinations conducted either by the Institute or University
6. The student should maintain minimum attendance criteria except the absence with genuine reasons for which the permission of the Ho I was obtained particularly in the case of illness
7. It will be the responsibility of the applicant to check the eligibility before submitting application. In case the applicant is found non-eligible at any stage, his/her submission or scholarship will be disqualified
PGDM Business Management (PGDM-BM)
XLRI offers a two-year full time Post Graduate programme in Business Management. The programme has MBA equivalence from Association of India Universities. On the completion of PGDM BM, students are conferred with Postgraduate diploma in Business Management (PGDBM).
This programme of XLRI is extremely prestigious and is rated as one of the finest of its kind in the country. The alumni of this programme currently occupy very significant positions in various industries, both in India and abroad.
PGDM BM offers specialization in the areas of Marketing, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Management among others.
XLRI Admission application process is through XAT exam. You need to first complete the XAT registration and then fill and submit XAT application form with requisite fee. It is the common application form and you can also apply for XLRI admission with nominal fee to respective PGDM programme. XLRI PGDM BM curriculum lays the foundation for a conceptual and analytical understanding of Indian and international business. XLRI's BM programme is designed to closely integrate current management theory and practice. The course has an evolving programme content and is constantly updated to be in tune with the emerging trends.
In the first year of the XLRI PGDM BM programme, the students are offered core courses with case studies and practical learning through industry visits. Summer internship is an important part of the curriculum.

The step by step process to complete XAT registration and XLRI application is as below:
- Register yourself on xatonline.in with some basic details like your name, email id, phone number. Immediately after the verification you will get XAT Id and password
- Login to XAT application page with XAT ID and password to fill your XAT application form
- On the first page fill all your personal details like complete name, date of birth, gender, email id, alternate email id, mobile number, alternate mobile number, age, nationality, blood group among others
- The next part is to fill your parents’ details in the application form. If you are married and are female, you need to enter details of your Husband and not of your parents
- Now fill in your address details like communication address with pincode, city, district, country among others

Doctoral Programme in Management (PhD)
The Doctoral Programme (PhD) of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode is a full-time doctoral programme to be completed in five years. The programme offers opportunities for advanced studies and research in different specializations related to Management Science. The admission process for IIMK PhD programme is detailed as below:

The eligibility criteria to apply for IIMK Doctoral Programme in Management (PhD) are as follows:
- Post-graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A., M.Com., M.E., M.Phil., M.Sc., M.Tech., MBA, MCA, etc.) with at least 55% aggregate (or equivalent)
- Professional qualification such as CA/ICWA/CS along with a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate (or equivalent) in the Bachelor’s degree.
4-year / 8-semester Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 75% aggregate (or equivalent)
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/NC-OBC/EWS categories will be given a relaxation of 5% (or equivalent) in the minimum eligibility marks mentioned above.

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for PGP at IIMA is through CAT. The selection of the candidates for admission to the PGP at IIMA is a two-step process.
In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. Detailed Admission process is as below:

You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Ahmedabad Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Ahmedabad website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
IIM Ahmedabad eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. In case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45% The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
