IIM Sirmaur MBA in Tourism Management is a two-year, full time residential programme. Each academic year consists of three trimesters, leading to the granting of a Degree in MBA (Tourism Management). The first year of the program encompasses core courses that provide an understanding of the fundamental concepts of management theories and practices across different functional areas. The first-year coursework is mandatory for all students, followed by a summer internship for a period of six to eight weeks, during which students are required to work on tourism and related projects.
In the second year, students are offered sector specific core and elective courses to specialize in their domains of interest. The first year coursework is followed by a summer internship. During the summer internship, students are required to work on an industry project with an organization for a period of eight to ten weeks. The second year coursework is spread over the next three terms (Term IV to Term VI).
