IIM Shillong PGPEx programme is a one year program designed specifically for professionals with work experience. The program aims at equipping the participants with adequate management knowledge and skills to enable them to captain trans national businesses and operate at strategic levels with a global outlook by synergizing all functional areas of management. The International Immersion Module gives students an opportunity to broaden learning and deepen knowledge about an increasingly globalized economic environment. On successful completion of the program, the participants are awarded Executive MBA degree.
During the 12 month program, candidates will develop critical problem-solving skills with functional management knowledge that brings a contemporary solution to today’s challenges. Candidates choose the subjects of their choice, with the flexibility to pursue international immersion and in-company training while experiencing multicultural life and working styles.
Eligible candidate should apply online before the last date. The application for PGPEX admission is invited in two rounds. A candidate can apply in any one round depending upon the outcome in the first round.

IIM Shillong12 month PGPEX curriculum comprises of diverse modules including Foundation, Functional, Language, Electives (Specialization), Integrative courses, International Immersion Module, Work shop and Innovative Camp.
While the program participants have to visit a foreign land for in-company projects, visit a partner institution with similar program objectives, and earn credits as part of the global curriculum, the Innovative Camp will cover Entrepreneurship,
Management Consultancy, Identifying New Business Models/Plans.
The international module of the program in the past has been facilitated by inputs and knowledge sharing by faculty from Fudan University, China; Ocean University, China; University of Newcastle, Australia; EM Lyon Business School, France; IE Business School, Spain. The program participants in the past have spent substantial time understanding the distinctiveness of innovations, business practices, and management styles in China. In 2023, the batch visited Barcelona, Spain, attended classes at EADA Business School, and completed five courses. They also visited multiple industries, undertook live projects in four reputed European companies, and presented business solutions to CXOs.”
- The application for IIM Shillong admission for PGPEX has two rounds.
- The Application Fee is Rs 3000 which is non-refundable and non-adjustable. Candidates can apply in any one of the rounds; depending on the outcome of the first round, the remaining seats will be filled in during the second round.
- If some candidates are put in waitlist at the end of the first round, they will be considered for admissions, subject to availability of seats, at the end of second round.
For PGPEX programme, IIM Shillong seeks a highly-selective cohort of professionals with a blend of corporate experience, intellectual curiosity, and international ambition. The eligibility criteria to apply for the programme are:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of full-time work experience after bachelor’s degree. Relaxation up to 1 year is available for candidates with at least 1-year field experience outside India.
- IIM Shillong accepts CAT (Min 50 percentile (overall)) and GMAT (Min 500 score (overall). IIM Shillong will consider last 2 years CAT performance or last 5 years valid GMAT score.

PhD in Management
IIM Shillong offers 4 years full time doctoral programme – PhD in Management.
The program is immersive, rigorous and interdisciplinary. Field work with a deep industry connect forms an integral part of study. An important part of the programme is dissertation which begins in year three. On completion of the programme candidates will be awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by IIM Shillong.
The scholars are expected to complete the program in four years. However, in case the programme is not completed within the stipulated time, the participants may be allowed to have two more years to complete the programme.
Application should be submitted with a tentative research proposal, wherein the candidate will have to present the tentative research problem proposed to be researched upon.

The commitment to the Doctoral program is four years which includes an enriching research focused, out-put oriented course work. The scholars are expected to complete the program in four years and ensure that they complete the requirements of the program within this stipulated time. However, the candidates who are unable to complete the program within the stipulated time may be allowed to continue in the program depending upon their progress. After completion of four years into the program an extension of two years may be granted subject to approval from the Doctoral Committee.
In the first year, the structure of course work comprises core, flexi-core, and research based courses leading to an understanding of management discipline, building theoretical foundations in the core area, develop basic skills for analyzing managerial problems and instill research interest. In their second year, the scholars will undergo Term-IV courses. As part of Term-IV courses, the scholar will undertake two credits from the PGP Basket of electives in consultation with their supervisors. The participant will start working on the primary research problem of the PhD thesis under the guidance of the Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC).
From third year onwards, the doctoral dissertation work provides them with an opportunity to make original contributions to an area of management or to one of its disciplines. The scholar is expected to work towards presenting papers at a conference, journal publications and other scholarly contributions. The candidate will have to prepare and submit the doctoral thesis and then submit the duly modified thesis for evaluation. Every scholar is expected to work at least 10 hours every week during the third and fourth year as Research/Teaching Assistant with a faculty member

IIM Mumbai admits Ph.D. Scholars with financial assistance. The programme encompasses various facets of contemporary Industrial, Business, and Social Issues in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Analytics and Data Science, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics & Strategy, and Sustainability Management.
The programme admits regular candidates from Academic Institutions, Universities, Government, industry, and other organizations. IIM, Mumbai invites individuals with strong academic foundation and zeal to pursue cutting-edge research.

The Ph.D. curriculum is spread across 39 credits including Ph.D. Core courses, stream specific courses, PGP Courses and Seminar presentations. The syllabus of each course is available in the Academic section.
The proposed Ph.D. course structure provides an opportunity for the Scholars to have the breadth of knowledge and flexibility in choosing their courses aligned to the interest of the research.
If the desired progress is not made by the Scholar as per the above timelines, it may lead to the cancellation of his/her admission. The final decision on the removal of a Ph.D. Scholar from the programme or for time extension will be taken by the Director as Chairman, Academic Council.

Eligibility criteria for admission to IIM Mumbai PhD programme include:

IIM Lucknow Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP ABM) is a 2 years full -time residential course designed to develop agribusiness leaders, entrepreneurs, and intrapreneurs with vision, competence and appropriate attitude for promoting/ growing agribusiness and agro-based enterprises with a strong international orientation. The curriculum of PGP ABM at IIM Lucknow is divided into six terms spread over two years. The First Year academic work, spread over three terms, is a compulsory package of 22 foundation (core) courses designed to provide basic knowledge of concepts, tools and techniques in various functional areas and relevant disciplines.
The two-month compulsory Summer Training in industrial and business organisations follows the first year course work. The summer training is aimed at providing exposure to the real life working environment. Students are required to work on specific, time-bound organisation related assignments.
The Second Year academic work, spread over three terms, comprises two compulsory courses of integrative nature along with a package of 15 elective courses of advanced and applied nature. These provide students the opportunity to develop in depth understanding and concentration in the areas of their special interest. The students can also take up to two Courses of Independent Study (CIS) as elective, or one Dissertation Project which is equivalent to two elective courses spread over Term-V and Term-VI.

IIM Lucknow eligibility criteria for PGP ABM programme are:
- A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Science/ Agricultural Engineering or allied subjects with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the SC/ST/PwD candidates).

IIM Lucknow Post Graduate Programme in Sustainability Management (PGP SM) leading to award of MBA Sustainability Management degree, is a two years full time residential programme. Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management stresses upon the philosophy that businesses are embedded in society and cannot be separated from it, and therefore aims to develop management professionals with a holistic perspective on economic, social and environmental issues. The curriculum of PGPSM is rigorous and includes specialized courses on sustainability from the first year itself, without missing out on the general management courses. In the second year, the students get exposure to sustainability in detail through well designed compulsory courses in Terms IV & V, and elective courses in Term VI.
The second year has an integrated project for three terms (up to 9 months) as an integral part of the curriculum. Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM)
Executive Fellow Program in Management (FPM) is a doctoral level program of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. EFPM is a part time non residential programme. The student is expected to complete the programme ordinarily in five years (four years in case of direct admission to second year). An extension may be granted for a period of maximum 2 years, with approval from the TAC, such that the total duration of the program does not exceed beyond 7 years.
An EFPM student has to do first year course work with Post Graduate Programme for Working Executives (PGPWE). All these courses are compulsory courses. The PGPWE classes are held on alternative weekends at NOIDA Campus of IIM Lucknow.
An EFPM student has to do specialized elective and compulsory courses in second year. In order to do these courses, an EFPM student has to make three visits of 21 days' duration each to NOIDA/ Lucknow Campus during the second year. (During Campus visits, the fee for boarding and lodging facility will be paid by the student on actual basis. The fee will be intimated before the commencement of the term by EFPM office.)
After completing mandatory course work successfully in first and second year, the student needs to take a Comprehensive Examination. After passing the Comprehensive Examination successfully, the student needs to form his/her Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC) in consultation with his area's faculty members. After the formation of TAC, the student presents the thesis proposal. The last steps of the programme are Thesis Submission and Defense.

- All applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in all their public exam 10th onwards.
- Applicants must not be more than 55 years of age

Fellow Programme in Management
Fellow Program in Management (FPM) is a doctoral level program of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. The FPM programme was launched by IIM Lucknow in 2000-2001. The program is of four and half years duration and offers a unique opportunity to those who wish to hone their research talents and develop teaching skills.
FPM at IIM Lucknow is designed to produce high-quality academicians, researchers, and management thinkers by providing an opportunity for interdisciplinary education and research in management. FPM is a full-time residential programme. Students are expected to complete the programme in four years and six months. However, under special circumstances extension of two more years may be granted. The students spend their first two years for course work and the last two years and six months for research and thesis preparation. IIM Lucknow offers campus hostel facility for stay of married students with their immediate family (spouse and children).
During first year of the programme, the scholars acquire knowledge of the discipline and functional areas of management and general management. At the end of the first year, the scholars undergo a summer placement/summer research assignment under the advice/guidance of their Academic Advisor. During second year of the programme the scholars acquire in-depth knowledge of the area of specialization and related fields. In addition, scholars take the FPM compulsory courses, which are specially designed to provide teaching and research skills, and to develop integrated learning.
Scholars will have to do a compulsory Dissertation (2 Credits). On completion of the second year course work which includes dissertation work, the scholars take the comprehensive examination. After passing the comprehensive examination, the candidate enters the thesis writing stage. The candidate first develops a thesis proposal, for which she/he identifies a research topic, identifies the members of the Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC), gives a seminar on the thesis proposal to the IIML academic community, and gets the thesis proposal approved by the TAC. On completion of the thesis work, the candidate submits the thesis and defends the same.
