This gives them a first-hand experience to organise guest lectures, seminars, even identify and screen faculty, coordinate directly with visiting faculty, etc. The last three trimesters are devoted to building entrepreneurial abilities in the students because a successful manager is perceived as a wealth creator for the organisation. The chosen specialisation subjects are learnt exhaustively in these three trimesters.

The last lap at IBA is devoted to placement exercise. Preparing the students for this begins much earlier through a process of communication, mock interview sessions, GDs, etc. Living through this programme is intense and gruelling. IMI PGDM HRM program is of two years duration and follows a trimester system. Apart from the six trimesters, IMI PGDM HRM students undertake a compulsory Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the end of the first year.

IMI PGDM HRM curriculum is designed with a holistic approach to Human Resource Management. IMI Delhi PGDM curriculum is distributed among several compulsory and elective courses, and the mandatory Summer Internship Program. The first year covers compulsory courses which cover basics in various functional areas including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Operations. Besides these, IMI PGDM HRM curriculum also includes courses like Economics, Quantitative methods and Information Technology. The focus of IMI PGDM HRM curriculum is not only on developing a manager with strong Human Resource Management skills but also to provide a balanced professional based on industry requirements.

A compulsory NGO internship during the second year is also part of the IMI New Delhi HRM program structure. This is a four-week internship which enables students to become aware of the social and economic challenges faced by the deprived sections of the society. On completion of the first year, all students of IMI Delhi HRM program are required to undertake Summer Internship Program of 8 to 10 weeks duration.

MDI Gurgaon PGDM HRM programme is spread over six terms of three months each. The core courses are covered in first 4 terms. The programme has compulsory eight-to-ten weeks long internship after Term 3. During term 5 & 6, students can opt for electives from OB & HRM area and can also enrich their elective basket by opting for maximum two electives from other functional areas such as Marketing, Finance, or Strategy & General Management. About 20 percent of the course is taught by industry practitioners. 

MDI Gurgaon PGDM HRM curriculum follows an interactive and participative pedagogy involving fieldwork, case studies, business games, role-plays, simulation exercises, group discussions, experiential exercises, film reviews, application of concepts and structured and unstructured group work, and hands-on projects with the industry.

MDI Gurgaon PGDM HRM student can study for one term in a partner foreign institution in lieu of his/her study term at MDI. A number of international scholarships are available for these students.
