The Post- Graduate Diploma in Management (Financial Management) programme at LBSIM was launched in 2008. PGDM (Financial Management) is a two-year full-time programme spread over six trimesters. During the first year, the focus is primarily on building a strong foundation of conceptual and analytical skills required for advanced and specialized courses in finance pursued in the second year. In the first year, students study 21 courses covering Economics, Human Relations, Quantitative Techniques, Financial & Cost Accounting, Corporate Finance, Information Technology.
LBSIM PGDM Financial Management equips the students with comprehensive knowledge of financial management to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ethical mindset. The programme enables the participants to understand business challenges holistically and recognise the interplay of finance with other disciplines.
PGDM Student connect programme is offered before the commencement of regular classes to help incoming candidates cope with the rigours of PGDM Programme by offering courses that bridge the knowledge gap between the undergraduate degree (in different domains) & PGDM Curriculum.
In the second year, students have to opt for six electives in addition to Eleven compulsory courses. This enables the students to pursue an in-depth learning in the area of their specialisation. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of 'Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management' Delhi, payable at New Delhi.

The PGP Programme at IIM Visakhapatnam is unique among new IIMs as it provides an opportunity to select electives in the first year of the programme.
In addition to core courses, students also get to choose courses from a list of electives which enable them to get in-depth knowledge. There is greater emphasis on the application of knowledge gained through projects, group exercises and case discussions.In the second year, students are required to do a minimum of 45 elective credits.
Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Visakhapatnam PGP (MBA) and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Visakhapatnam admission is submitted. At this stage, you do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Visakhapatnam Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Visakhapatnam website at the link https://pgpadmissions.iimv.ac.in/ whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password. If you qualify at this stage you will asked to apply for IIM Visakhapatnam admission through its website.
- IIM Visakhapatnam 2 years full time PGP Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- The candidate should appear in CAT exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting.
- Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for Admission
Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA program at IIM Visakhapatnam is through CAT Exam and PI round. The selection of the candidates for admission to the MBA at IIM Visakhapatnam is a three-step process- Pre shortlisting, Shortlisting, and participation in PI round
In the first step, candidates are screened as per the IIM Visakhapatnam admission policy on performance in CAT exam and in the second step they are considered on various parameters in shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. After the PI round, IIM Visakhapatnam prepares merit list for final admission as per its final selection weightages. Detailed Admission process is as below:
The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. Post release of CAT result, all the candidates who opted for IIMV admission are considered for short-listing. All candidates who opted for IIM Vizag admission and have scored required percentile as prescribed by IIMV, need to submit the detailed application online as available at the link https://pgpadmissions.iimv.ac.in/ on IIM Vizag official website.
Next step is that the candidates are shortlisted from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and have confirmed their interest in IIMV and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme
After the PI round, IIM Visakhapatnam will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIM Vizag to successful candidates.
The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in PI round, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others
Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by the stipulated date
