PhD in Management
Full-time Ph.D scholars at IIM Sambalpur are exempted from tuition/programme fee. However, the selected candidates will have to deposit an offer of acceptance fee of INR 50,780 to confirm the acceptance of the offer out of which an amount of INR 44,000 will be refunded after completion of the programme by the candidate, else it will be forfeited and an amount of INR 6000/- (excluding GST @ 18%) will be adjusted towards alumni fee (Non-Refundable).
IIM Sambalpur provides a comprehensive fellowship that covers all academic expenses including tuition, computer, library, medical insurance, placement, and alumni fees. In addition, a monthly subsistence allowance of Rs.35,000/- for first and second years, and Rs. 40,000/- after submitting the TAC approved thesis proposal will be provided till 4 years.
A maximum of two six-month extensions may be provided subject to the recommendation of the Doctoral Committee and Competent Authority. Since the PhD is a full-time residential programme, bachelor accommodation will be provided to all the students in the hostel. Final Merit List for PhD Admission: Merit List will be prepared based on Personal Interview, Academic Qualification, Relevant Work Experience and Research Statement of Purpose (SOP).
Accept PhD Admission Offer and Pay Acceptance Fees: Full-time Ph.D scholars are exempted from tuition/programme fee. However, the selected candidates will have to deposit an offer of acceptance fee of INR 50,780 to confirm the acceptance of the offer out which an amount of INR 44,000 will be refunded after completion of the programme by the candidate, else it will be forfeited and an amount of INR 6000/- (excluding GST @ 18%) will be adjusted towards alumni fee (Non-Refundable).
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) at IIM Sambalpur is a two-year full-time residential programme. The programme aims to groom the participants as global responsible leaders with a profound capacity to learn and adapt in a national and international business contexts; an orientation towards achieving excellence with maintaining high ethical standards; and a capacity to work efficiently and effectively both individually and in groups.
The MBA at IIM Sambalpur provides participants with an ideal platform to augment their knowledge, skills, ability, and attitude for making themselves ready to take up challenging roles in the professional world. It is structured to harness and synergize management understanding and techniques, through courses offered by scholarly faculty members of IIM Sambalpur and other top-notch institutions of the country including older IIMs. A blended learning method, e.g., a combination of online and traditional classroom methods in the form of flipped classroom, a blend of academic theory with experiential learning in the form of live projects, a combination of self-learning and peer-learning is adopted to hone the skills of the participants. The two year MBA programme has rigorous and contemporary curriculum which is updated as per industry demand. The first year of the Programme provides the participants with a thorough grounding in the functional areas of Management. The first-year courses in the core curriculum are common to all participants. The rigour of the programme will enable them to enter into any stream of management when they embark upon a career, regardless of the choice of specialization they make in the second year. The summer internship towards the end of first year is an important building block of the programme. In the second-year, the participants are given the opportunity to choose elective courses from a number of functional areas, viz., Economics, Financial Management and Accounting, Information Systems Management, Production and Operations Management, OB &Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, and Policy & Strategy Management.
Instructors adopt multiple pedagogical tools including lecture-discussions, case method, problem-solving exercises, psychometric tests, behavioral and computer-based simulations, projects, class presentations, and various forms of technology-based learning such as multi-media, and e-learning, to facilitate the effective learning. Self and group studies are given higher emphasis over the lecture-based study.
