Launched in 2019, this is a premium PGDM offered by IMT Ghaziabad focusses on a specific ecosystem – banking and financial services. This large, growing, critical, international industry requires both an understanding of core management skills as well as significant domain expertise. The vision of the program is to make participants industry ready for not just day one for BFSI (Banking and financial services Industry), but to provide them with the conceptual and principles-based understanding that will future-proof their skillsets to meet the expected material disruption in this space over the next few years.

Following a full review of the program architecture and based on stakeholder feedback, the structure of the program was aligned with the dual goals of aligning closely with industry needs (immediate and in the medium term) as well as clearly differentiating it from the traditional PGDM Finance, in terms of content, design, and delivery.

Each course is now designed using a five-pillar approach – theory, practice, history, data and disruption. Significant industry input into curriculum design, as well as delivery, is expected to help us stay relevant to changing industry needs. We have also created a themed set of linked courses (6-10 on each theme), focusing on specific areas such as risk management in financial services, digital/data/disruption to ensure that topics are dealt with in-depth rather than at a superficial level. The delivery of the course is being handled by BFSI practitioners and IMT Ghaziabad core faculty.

In order to expose the PGDM-BFS participant to real world financial sector, IMT Ghaziabad is proud to announce its strategic partnership with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) to launch a pioneering Student Immersion Program. This initiative is meticulously designed to provide students enrolled in the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Banking and Financial Services (PGDM-BFS) with hands-on experience and unparalleled exposure to the dynamic and rapidly evolving Indian securities markets. This comprehensive six-week program encompasses around 100 contact hours. The curriculum features a balanced mix of academic courses and an industry project, ensuring a rigorous blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Students will have the opportunity to utilize NISM’s state-of-the-art simulated trading facilities and gain direct insights through visits to prominent institutions such as SEBI, NSE, BSE, CDSL, and NSDL. Moreover, the program offers valuable networking opportunities with industry practitioners and regulators during these institutional visits, fostering essential connections for their future careers.

The program has been growing in terms of student cohort, recruitment opportunities and compensation. Curriculum

IMI Delhi PGDM curriculum is spread over two years and is divided in six trimesters. The first three trimesters are devoted to developing understanding of basic concepts across different functional areas to provide an integrated learning experience to the students. This covers Core Compulsory courses across different functional areas of management including Marketing, Finance and Accounting, OB and HR, Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques, Information Management, Economics, Strategy & General Management.

The first year also consists of Core Elective courses which a student can choose based on his/her choice of specialization. A minimum of two Core Elective courses have to be chosen by the student in the domains he wishes to specialize. The following courses are offered in the first year. 

Though this program is a general management program student can choose elective courses in their stream of specialization in the second year from the areas of Marketing, Finance, Operations, Strategy, Information Systems, Analytics (minor specialization).

IMI Delhi PGDM BFS admission can be divided into following stages: 

  • The candidates seeking admission to IMI Delhi PGDM BFS programme must appear in CAT 2025 or XAT 2026 entrance exams.

  • Then, candidate should apply separately for IMI Delhi admissions. IMI Delhi application process is open. Apply now.  IMI Delhi last date to apply is January 23, 2026.

Curriculum

IMI Delhi PGDM Banking & Financial Services curriculum is spread over six trimesters and the programme structure comprises both compulsory as well as elective courses. Compulsory courses include basics in various functional areas including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Operations and also courses covering Banking & Financial Services. Electives focused purely on Banking & Financial Services are offered in the second year. Besides, it also includes courses like Economics, Statistics and Information Technology. During IMI Delhi Selection Process, applicants are evaluated based on valid CAT/ XAT/GMAT scores, past academic performance, work experience and performance in the Video Assessment and personal interview. The selection process builds in a criterion that facilitates evaluating each applicant on:

A) Academic Abilities: Candidates with consistent academic background

B) Standardized Test Scores: Valid CAT/XAT/GMAT scores are taken into consideration in the overall assessment

C) Video Interview and Personal Interview: The video Assessment before the final PI will test a candidate for their thought process and communication skills. Thereafter, shortlisted candidates from this round will go to the final PI process which aims to determine the suitability of the candidate for the programme. During the interview round, candidates are assessed on a number of parameters including general and business awareness, clarity of goals, attitude, people skills, communication skills, personal and extra-curricular/professional initiatives, etc.

Curriculum

The One Year MBA - GSCM consists of three terms. The first term consists of mandatory courses covering the key tools, concepts and analytical skills used in all major functional areas with a focus on supply chain management. The Fundamental  courses focus on developing the knowledge and analytical ability that support the understanding of the functional areas of business studies. The Functional courses cover the fundamentals of business and management studies and equip the participants to understand and apply advanced concepts. The curriculum is designed to enable participants to become experts in the Supply Chain Management (SCM) domain at a global level. Participants are also exposed to the digital world of supply chain management.

In Term 2 students get an opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Indian supply chain domain and will need to study core courses like Logistics, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, Global Supply Chain Management and Advanced Analytics. They will also be offered a set of electives to choose from which would enhance their SCM expertise. In Term 2, students will also work on a live SCM Project with industry.

NMIMS Mumbai eligibility criteria to apply for 2 years full time MBA Business Analytics programme admission have following key points

  • Applicant should be a Graduate in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or Commerce discipline with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university
  • A candidate with 1 year of full-time and relevant work experience as on commencement of program will be preferred
  • The candidate should be registered for NMAT by GMAC and must score well to become eligible for admission.
  • NMIMS SBM Mumbai will consider only first take of NMAT by GMAC exam score. Score of Retake exam will not be considered

Selection Process Description

The admission process of the two year full time MBA BA Program at SBM NMIMS Mumbai has following steps:
Step-1: Register and apply for NMAT exam. You should Register with NMIMS before your scheduled date of exam or NMIMS last date whichever is earlier. For example, if your first take of NMAT exam is scheduled on 15th November, you should apply for NMIMS MBA admission on or before 14th November. You can retake NMAT exam, but NMIMS will consider only first take of NMAT by GMAC score in admission process  
Step-2: Apply to NMIMS before Your first Take of NMAT exam date. NMIMS will accept only first take of NMAT exam score. NMAT Retake exam scores will not considered for shortlisting and for further selection process.
Step-3: Check Short-list on the basis of NMAT Score. Expected NMAT cut off score for NMIMS SBM MBA BA is 180
Step-4: Participate in CD-PI, the "Final Selection Round"
