IIM Ahmedabad 2 year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) is rated as the most rigorous MBA programme. It is the flagship management programme of IIMA. Its main objective is to develop young students into competent professional managers, capable of working in any sector of organized activity, proceeding leadership and achieving excellence in performance while contributing to the welfare of the larger society.

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for PGP at IIMA is through CAT. The selection of the candidates for admission to the PGP at IIMA is a two-step process.
In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. Detailed Admission process is as below:

After the AWT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIMA to successful candidates. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in AWT & PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others
Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by the stipulated date.
IIMA is known for the depth and rigour of the programme. MBA curriculum is consistently reviewed and revised to keep it relevant and contemporary as per industry demand. The PGP curriculum is designed to meet three objectives:

The first year’s curriculum is compulsory and covers courses in the areas of accounting and finance, behavioural science, communication, economics, information technology, marketing, personnel management and industrial relations, operations management, law, strategy and quantitative methods. At the end of the first year, a student is required to do internship in an organization for a period of eight to ten weeks.
The second year courses provide the students with an opportunity to pursue studies in areas of special interest to them along with a few compulsory courses. These compulsory courses provide global and domestic context in the areas of entrepreneurship, environment and sustainability. The Institute has an exchange programme with over seventy-eight global institutes all over the world. Every year, more than one third of the batch spends a term at these premier management institutes abroad. The Institute also has an arrangement for Double Degree Programmes with six European Institutes. A student completing a Double Degree Programme receives the diploma/degree from IIMA as well as from the partner Institute. Graduates of the PGP will be awarded the degree of ‘Master of Business Administration’.
Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Ahmedabad PGP and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Ahmedabad admission is submitted. You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Ahmedabad Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Ahmedabad website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
IIM Ahmedabad eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. In case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45% The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
The candidate should appear in CAT 2024 exam and must score minimum prescribed
score in the entrance exam to become eligible for admission.
